gd5609 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this: When driving my '06 GX 470 over small to medium size bumps, I can hear a metallic noise coming from somewhere under the engine area. It sounds like a metallic plate or shield is loose under the engine. I noticed this a couple of weeks back when driving with the driver window rolled down on some mountain roads and it started becoming kind of annoying at this point. I can consistently replicate this noise when doing 12-15 mph over speed bumps. I wouldn't expect such a noise from a >$50k Lexus vehicle, so before I take it into the dealership to have them investigate, I was wondering if anyone out there is also experiencing it. Thanks, Gabe
Cookeze Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 No Noise Here!!! Check the bolts that hold on the front skid plate. The plate has to be removed to change the oil filter and it may have not been tightened properly.

I checked anyway the skid plate and it looks and feels solid. Just curious though, did you guys try to replicate the noise after my post, or you just didn't notice it during normal operation? Anyway, I am taking the car into the dealership tomorrow to have them do the 5000 mile maintenance and look at this as well. Thanks for the feedback! Gabe
