Black GS400 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 2001 LS430 with 42K miles CEL came on....pull a P0135 code. Heated Oxygen sensor (Bank 1 sensor 1) Questions: To fix the problem.....is it pretty straight forward....... go ahead and replace the sensor? Where is the ( Bank 1 Sensor 1) located? Anyone can post a picture to the location? How difficult of a job is it? Does it require any special tool? Where is the best source for the sensor? Would a Toyata part# 89465-50060 be the same sensor .......maybe cost less than a Lexus part# ? Would a Bosch sensor be the same? THANKS IN ADVANCE for your advice! Dan
wandawoods Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 about a month ago, I had to replace one of 4 OS sensors on my 96 SC4 (code P0135). I purchased an universal Bosch O2 sensor (part# 15733, about $80), and it works like a charm (cleared the error code right out!). the original O2 sensor removed was marked "toyota 89465-50060", the same part you are referring to.
Black GS400 Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Help! Anyone can point out WHERE the bank 1 sensor 1 is located?
LScott400 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 The following is only a deductive guess on my part: #1 cylinder is on the driver's side of the engine. The main O2 sensor is followed by the sub O2 sensor. So I would guess that "bank 1 sensor 1" is the driver's side main O2 sensor. This link is a tutorial on older models and should be very similar to yours. If I have "deduced" wrong, then hopefully someone will set us both straight. :)
