Lock/unlock Chirps

I have a 97 es300 and all of the sudden when I push the lock and unlock button on the remote, it no longer makes any noise. I must have somehow disabled it. Does anyone know hot to configure it back. My car doesn't have that volume control knob under the steering wheel columm like the owners manuals says.

Its usually on the left side, next to your steering wheel. Thats the case with my year, but with 97 isn't it near the trunk button or something?

look underneath your steering column for a small knob (similar to a volume knob) this will control how loud or silent you want the chirps.

I would add look under the dash under (inline with steering column......)

Thanks everyone !! I can't believe I missed the knob. The owners manual points to the right side of the steering wheel but it's actually straight down the middle, way underneath.
