Tire Pressure Sensors On 06 Gs430

Recommended Posts

:cries: I've just put a set of 18" chrome ARE's on my 06 GS430 - Now my low tire pressure indicator is on in the guages - we could not put the sending units/ valves on the ARE's. Lexus states that we can't disable the tpms system to eliminate the idiot light!!! Anyone got any ideas.:wacko:

Hey, sorry to hear about the problem. Listen, if you end up not needing the sensors, I'll buy them

from you for my winter wheels.

Email me, my address is Muwka at hotmail dot com. Thanks,

Buy wheel that will accept the pressure sensors, or drill 4 holes on the spare tire rim and mount all 4 sensors on the spare to keep the light off.

We tried to install the tpms sensors simply in the spare tire cavity and aired to 33 psi. (No need to drill wheel for valves as the whole sensor is INSIDE the pressurized environment). Appearently the snesors and receivers need to be located at each corner of the vehicle for the RFI signals to be "read" correctly.

Just about every wheel on the market has a different contour to it's shape, so finding one that fits these specifc tpms is all but impossible even with other Lexus wheels.

This is driving me "batty" :censored:

Any ideas as to what I could do if I want to keep my original wheels intact and get sensors for a new set of wheels/tires? Can you buy the sensors?

Yes, you can buy the sensors. My dealer quoted me $175 a piece. The lowest price I could find is

$88 a piece from Sewell Lexus in TX. Your dealer will need to register the new set of sensors to your car as the second set.
