rra640 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 My steering wheel is starting to make a noise on the in-out and up-down motion. Anyone experience this? I suspect that it's probably in need of some lubrication. Anyone know how to get to it and if so, what type of greese to use? If I can't figure it out, I'm going to turn off the auto adjust feature so it just stays where I set it. Model is a 1998 GS400

Model is a 1998 GS400 There have been a few posts on noises in the auto column when hot , You might want to do a search in the gs forums ( go way back ) There is a thread describing how to take apart the steering column and lubricate. It very well may be white lithium lubricant.
