  1. True... the performance is fine. It really isn't noticable unless you get down and look through the wheel. I just figured that it would go through the pad quicker if it was not smooth.
  2. I noticed that my left rear brake rotor has multiple large ridges across the surface. They are fairly deep, but rounded on the top... not sharp. The rest of the rotors are very smooth. What could have caused this? Pads are fairly new and rotors have never been turned, but appear to be in good shape (except for the one in question) I was going to pull it off and have it turned, but would like to know what the root cause might be. Would it be better to resurface both the left and right at the same time? The right side is very smooth. I thought maybe some of the other components within the caliper might need to be replaced?? I am not getting any type of vibration, noise, or squeaking. Handling is fine. Just replaced the OEM tires and wear was even on the original tires. Vehicle is a ’98 GS400 46k miles. All stock. Thanks!
  3. What exactly is a strut bar bushing? Do you mean the bushing on top of the strut? I was considering replacing the struts anyhow. Would that solve my problem?
  4. I have a 1998 GS400 and have been noticing some creaking coming from the rear of the vehicle. I think it caused by the bushings. I have sprayed them with WD40 and it’s ok for a short time, but returns. My first guess is the bushings on the small tie-rods right behind the rear wheels. It is a 6 inch long round rod. Second guess is the rubber bushing for the mount of the body to the frame. It looks cracked. Other thoughts are springs and shocks mounts. Would it help to tighten the bolts of the various suspension parts? Is it critical that they are torqued to spec? How do I find the specs for all these parts? Does someone have a repair manual that shows an exploded version of the rear suspension?
  5. My steering wheel is starting to make a noise on the in-out and up-down motion. Anyone experience this? I suspect that it's probably in need of some lubrication. Anyone know how to get to it and if so, what type of greese to use? If I can't figure it out, I'm going to turn off the auto adjust feature so it just stays where I set it. Model is a 1998 GS400
  6. I have the exact same issue on mine. I was going to try to find a matching fabric to see if I can recover. The damage to mine in minimal.. a portion has shrunk and is pealing away. Only I notice it, but I'd like to fix it.
