imtheking Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I think its time to replace the rotors on my 98 gs300. I saw rotors on ebay that are "drill slot". What is the difference between these and regular rotors? Is there a big difference in price? I was thinking of just going to AutoZone and purchasing the rotors. Thanks.

Go with the drilled and slotted... i bought em off ebay 1 year ago and i love em... i think i got a set of 4 for around $460... the drilled and slotted rotors are better for the brake pads...

Yes, go with the drilled slotted. They help displace heat better and are a little easier on the pads. Make sure you get new pads as well. And if you put them on, make sure after you are done installing the rotors, you do not mash on the brakes right after. You have to ease them in. Go about 5 mph and slowly come to a stop, then do it in reverse. Later
dukabor Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I did Brembo Rotors with Hawk pad on my 98-400. An unbelievable difference. Check out what other people had to say about this combination in previous forums.........worth the price !!! Dukabor

Dukabor Drilled is great for heat dispersment, Slotted is good for dust/dirt displacement, Both weaken the rotor and will increase the possibility of warpage. This topic has been covered to ( almost no end ) in previous posts. Use the search function and look way back. Blanks are your best choice if you are not racing.
imtheking Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Yes, no racing here. I dont do that. Guess ill stick to regular pep boys or autozone rotors. thx guys
new big400 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Your car is known for its breaking abilities dont just buy some cheap autozone junk.
