  1. Greeting from Canada...... I would never consider trying to run the all season tires in the winter... I picked up a set of steel take off rims from an '06 rave 4 and put winters on them.....16" . they are the only ones that i found to clearv the calipers. really slick and got the rims for $200 from a toyota dealer with the center caps. I only ever use the winter setting when excesive tire spin starts.
  2. I took a rock in my Passengers side fog light and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on where to buy a new lens ? The dealer will only sell me the set for $300.00. thanks in advance, Dukabor
  3. I did Brembo Rotors with Hawk pad on my 98-400. An unbelievable difference. Check out what other people had to say about this combination in previous forums.........worth the price !!! Dukabor
  4. You won't gain anything by using sub par plugs. Maybe a few bucks but in the long run you'll pay. Good Luck. A little note for you........once you've changed them , if you get Idling problems , unhook your battery for 5 min. it will reboot the computer. I had to do it with mine and it worked Dukabor
  5. Neo, Any more info on the custom bracket needed for the TT rears? Thanks, Cesar Thought I'd close this off........... I odered Brembo drilled rotors and Hawk pads after reading all the posts on the subject. The difference is mind boggling. there is a bit of "rubbing noise" under hard braking ,but I will live with it. The trade off is more that worth while. I now look forward to quick stops as much as I like accellerating. oh , yea , I only did the fronts. Dukabor
  6. Thanks Guys, My gut feeling was the sensor thinking it is being blocked also. I haven't had time to deal with it yet....... I will post the results once I've had a better look at it. I got it closed and we now have rain in the forcast for the week so I don't expect to get at it rigt away. Dudabor. Well GUY was RIGHT !!! I'll bet he gets sick of hearing that !!!!! There are no adjustments for the motor. It is an outright replacement. If it wasn't reported while within warranty......you are SOL. Unfortunately in Canada it reads $978.00 for the part and another $450 labour. Not a single wrecker has one. I'll be ordering mine on line from the supplied link. By far the lowest price. Thanks again for all your help. This site is the best thing about owning a lexus.....well next to coming into work @220kmph !!! Dukabor.
  7. If you haven't done anything yet....... I did the same thing. I like the sound of the factory system , but it didn't have enough umph ! I added a sealed Clarion Box with 2-12" subs and amp. It really brought the system to life I know there is a lot better out there but for under $500.00 it was the perfect solution for me. Dukabor.

  9. I have a '98 GS 400 and have been having intermitant problems with my sunroof. When I close it it pops back to half way open. I've done it several times and eventually it stayed closed. The dealer (without looking at it) says it's the motor......read $978.00 plus install. Anyone run up against this and have any suggestions on diagnosis ? thanks in advance Dukabor
  10. If you happen to see this............I disagree with everthing posted ! If the 2000 is the same as my 98.......... What you can do is steal the signal from the existing amp and feed it to a seperate sub amp. Take out the sub in the rear deck and put in a pre-made dual 12inch box. I used Clarion componants and it is amazing. the sub box fits perfectly on the shelf on the trunk and ports through the rear deck. the whole set up cost me under $500.00 cdn. When I want to adjust the sub , the bass controll works quite well and I can also use the gain on my amp. I tried 10 inch subs first but they didn't resignate enough. pop into a stereo shop and ask........its worth a look. Dukabor
  11. The TT is good, and you can get them for a good price, compared to the Brembos. If you are wanting to do all four corners, any of the last gen Supras should fit. I think luxurymods.com actually sells the kits there for a good price. Can anyone give me some input on whether it is worthwhile to just do the rotors and pads without doing the Calipers ? Dukabor
  12. Hi guys, I have a '98 GS400 From reading old columns I 've gotten the impression the TT or Brembo seem to be the top choices for upgrades. Who can tell me what years of TT brakes will fit ? Will the fit rears also if I decide to do all 4 ? Thanks in advance, Dukabor.
  13. Thanks....... I'm told the best source is Consumer Reports. Getting an on line membership. Dukabor
  14. Does anyone know where to go to find hidden warranties ?
