pimp92sc400 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Please help! once my car warms up it skips 2nd gear (sometimes) if I take off fast at all. my 92 sc400 has 126,000 on it. my fluid is clean, and i'm changing my filter this weekend. i hope it's not a transmission solenoid but i have been told that it could be. O, when i rest the computer system it gets better for a week or two. Please help, any help would be great.
pimp92sc400 Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 if anybody wants to know. there is no gasket on the transmission filter or pan. please...please...please... help with the above question!!!
pimp92sc400 Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 going once..........................................going twice....................................sold for the love of god, i know this has happened too aleast one of you!
pimp92sc400 Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 ok... so i cleaned my transmission filter, it was a little dirty, and i'm still havimg the same problem. now what should i try. any help would be great!
jzz30 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 i know the trans pan doesnt use a gasket except a silicone seal. the filter on the other hand should use a cork gasket. sorry cant help with your problem, sounds like a problem with the AT computer if it gets better after resetting.
pimp92sc400 Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 i know it has a cork gasket but lexus said you leave it, was that wrong?
dcfish Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 i know it has a cork gasket but lexus said you leave it, was that wrong? Maybe a faulty solenoid. I beleive there is a thread on cleaning the solenoids, If I remember it is fairly easy after you pull the pan. Search and see what you come up with.
pimp92sc400 Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 jzz30 i see you live in hawaii... my car was bought there. do you know if that has something to do with me not being able to register at lexus.com
pimp92sc400 Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 ok i did a search on solenoid. and i saw it when i cleaned my transmission filter, and my understanding is there is a screan that i need to clean. Is that right? and thanks for the suggestion DCFISH. I will give it a try
pimp92sc400 Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 ok still having the same problem, but check this out, I always just leave my head lights on, because they go off with the car. so i turned them off the other day just because, and BAM no more transmission problems. then i turn them back on and F#@* they come back. so need less to say i have been driving around with my head lights off. SOMEBODY please tell me what the hell is up with my car. O and i do have a break light out that i'm going to change today. Why does my car hates me?
jzz30 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 oh ok i think one of your tail lights are out or something cuz my ls did that when the tail was out. some stupid saftey feature that doesnt let your drive at night.
pimp92sc400 Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 thanks...........I thought I was just going crazy.
