it is the resonance of the exhaust system. Most RX300 suffer from it. no known fix. but this TSB may work for you. NV011-98

center exhaust pipe for both 4WD and 2WD models.

I just bought a 1999 RX 300. I notice a slight vibration at idle. Could this be motor mounts?

Thanks of the information. I will check this out with my mechanic. My car now has 71000 on it so I am out of luck with the warranty.
