lexuscrazy
hello everyone, was hoping someone could help me out. i recently got my front passenger side window replaced. i had called Lexus and the original window was around 400 CD$. I went to an aftermarket dealer and got my window replaced for 165CD$. the other day i noticed that the DOT rating on the original window is 23 and on the new one its 18. what is a DOT rating? so far i havnt noticed any problems with the windows. no leaks or air gaps. thanks in advance. COZ
Google windshield DOT numbers. Click "I'm Feeling Lucky." They are manufacturers’ numbers. 18 is PPG, makes sense, we are in the US. 23 is Nippon sheet Glass, they are in Japan. http://www.glasslinks.com/dot2.htm
