Stereo Shuts Off

Recommended Posts

Just logged on to this forum.........wow,

Invaluable information.

I have a '98 GS400 with the Nak system.

I've never heard of such a problem , but here goes....

The stereo turns on and off with the lights.

Called a stereo shop and they think its the head unit.

Called Lexus locally and they think its a pinched wire in a door ?????

Anyone else ever ru up against this ?

Humm.... I'd check Rad No. 2 fuse. It's a 15A located in the driver's footwell fusebox. It is possible that the radio only works with the lights because when the lights are activated, power is fed to the radio via the dome fuse. The Rad No. 1 fuse, 20A, is in the passenger's side junction box, at the rear of the engine compartment.
