Help.. Cant Get 3rd Brake Housing Off...

Hi, I was trying to change the bulb in my 97 es but

cant seem to get the housing off. I've tried pulling

straight up, but no luck. Any tricks to get this off

and does anyone know the bulb type used in 3rd brake?

you should be able to pry it up with a screw driver. It takes a little force then "POP".

Start with the edge closest to the seat.

be steady and be consistent with the force.

On my vehicle which has a subwoofer in the same assembly, I just pull back on it toward the rear seat (not up or down). It took me a few minutes to figure out, but I finally got it. If you have the same setup as me, replace the bulb first before reconnecting the wiring. It is much easier that way. Now if I could just get that cover to stop rattling when the bass hits...
