Wheel Size Quesiton

I have read that going with a larger diameter wheel should only be done to accomidate larger brakes as long as handling is the primary consideration.

Is this true?

Which size will give me the best handling?

you can go to an 18 on the GS and not worry about the brakes.

18's will give you the best cornering but it is a tradeoff. as you go up for the stock 17s, the bumpyness or feel of the road surface will also increase.

I ride 16 in the fall/winter and 18s in the spring/summer on my ES, same brakes.

This is one of the wheels I'm considering. What do I need to know about the tire pressure monitoring system and if it will work with this wheel? The factory offset is 45mm and this one is 40mm but tirerack says if they list the wheel for my car it will work. Wheel is an OZ Superturismo GT.

I was thinking about the Goodyear F1's in 245/40/18
