Great Forum! (+ Ml Audio Question)

Hi All,

Glad I found this Forum! (Perhaps the Dealer should've mentioned it?) Anyways, I

recently went to the Dealer, couldn't decide between the 06 GS300 AWD, and the 06 RX330

(4-mo wait for hybrid). So after a little debate, I bought them both! Best cars on the

planet, and we've had 'em all. And the Lexus service is second-to-none.

My GS AWD has EVERY available option, and I absolutely love it. But I'm mildly dissapointed in the

ML Audio, specifically the user interface and the lack of data it provides. For instance, load up a few

CDs, but it doesn't provide disc data. (Brand new, store-bought Music CDs, not rips). The system only provides that Disc 1 is a CD, not the Artist or Title; ditto for the each song. All u get is "Disc 2, Track 3".

(The Text or Title button doesn't help.)

And no IPOD interface? Jeez. Hey, I like the Sirius SAT, but this is a terrible oversight. I think the IS has it (anyone confirm?), but I can't believe Lexus included a cassette player from the '80s (hello? what's next? 8-track player?) but no IPOD/other MP3 interface.

Not trying to be a nit, just venting a little about the ML system. I can't be the only one who's a lil disappointed in it? Other than that, the cars are great and I'm sure i'll spend a lot of time here on this GREAT FORUM!

As far as the ML system, I think it's the most amazing system in any car that I have ever heard. It is so true to the original recording that I still cannot believe it. I have my own music / video studio and I spent a lot of money on the audio system. It very much compares to the clarity of my studio.

As far as the audio text. I own about 1,600 CD's and not one of them have CD Audio text. You have to burn the CD's on your own and then this feature does work. Use a program that grabs artist and song information from the net and then burn a CD. Try it in your car and you will be happy to see that it has CD Text after you create a CD this way.

IPOD interface: I totally agree. I hate rigging a Tape adapter or FM adapter to a new car. But I must say that IPOD sound quality is very poor compared to the DVD-Audio disk or CD audio disk quality. So now I don't care about the IPOD interface anymore.

To add a gripe of my own. I refused to put a stupid box that is not even centered on a new car for XM. That is simply the dumbest thing they could do to a sharp looking car. I am waiting for an alternative, since I love XM in my wife's car and can't wait to get it in my own car.
