It's hard to decide when everyone has a different opinion. I do realize that some people like distortion and distroted bass, etc. I am not one of them. I own and operate a music / video studio. I paid a lot of money for the audio equipment. To me, I want to hear what was recorded. When you hear music through a very good system, it definately helps you realize that there are major differences in recordings. That being said, I personally love the ML system in my GS. I find that it is very close to the sound that I get in my studio. I listen to many types of music and they all sound great. I keep the EQ setting to FLAT (zero). I never heard a car stereo that sounded better. Even aftermarket. I heard many that had distroted bass and crazy loudness. But that doesn't impress me at all. This system rocks my world. Hopefully you will agree. I'm not into the unrealistic, distorted bass though. I do understand that many people are. I would just take your 2-3 best sounding CD's with you and try them both out. I have been buying DVD-Audio disks and am very impressed with the even better sound from them in my ML system. Also do some research on ML system. Hello, As far as the ML system, I think it's the most amazing system in any car that I have ever heard. It is so true to the original recording that I still cannot believe it. I have my own music / video studio and I spent a lot of money on the audio system. It very much compares to the clarity of my studio. As far as the audio text. I own about 1,600 CD's and not one of them have CD Audio text. You have to burn the CD's on your own and then this feature does work. Use a program that grabs artist and song information from the net and then burn a CD. Try it in your car and you will be happy to see that it has CD Text after you create a CD this way. IPOD interface: I totally agree. I hate rigging a Tape adapter or FM adapter to a new car. But I must say that IPOD sound quality is very poor compared to the DVD-Audio disk or CD audio disk quality. So now I don't care about the IPOD interface anymore. To add a gripe of my own. I refused to put a stupid box that is not even centered on a new car for XM. That is simply the dumbest thing they could do to a sharp looking car. I am waiting for an alternative, since I love XM in my wife's car and can't wait to get it in my own car. Good luck everyone. Hi, I found very little info in the owner's manual. I'm not too impressed with it's functionality. I was expecting to find a list of commands. Of course, I had a friend in the car at the time and tried it out. Completely didn't work. I spoke very clear and it did the wrong function every time. I have a 06 GS300 AWD and had a very bad problem with dash rattle. In fact, for once in my life, the problem got a lot worse when I was driving it to the dealer (instead of getting better or going away when I got there). They kept it for a day and it was fine. The dealer told me it was the clips under the dash. Now I'm getting more rattles and have to troubleshoot where it is. I have to empty my car completely of all misc junk first. I would recommend bringing a couple of CD's with you to the dealer and try them both out. Since I live in the Midwest, they do not offer the Levinson on a GS300 without special ordering it. So I listened to it in a GS430. I was completely blown away. I am extremely picky about audio systems, I'm a musician and I have my own studio. The Levinson is simply the best sounding auto stereo that you can buy. If you like distortion and unreal bass, then it may not be for you. Try them both out, you will see a big difference.
