  1. <06 GS300AWD, 5900 miles> Every single 06 owner that I have met, emailed or otherwise communicated with has these exact same complaints. Mine never made a sound until after I got it back from the 5K service. Now I have creaks and squeeks coming from more places than I can even count. Definitely rattles from the nav-area, the ashtray, top left of dash, the NEW seat belt tensioner, and around the instrument panel. Last Christmas, I bought my wife the 06 RX330, and she got me the 06 GS300AWD. We're loving her car and hating mine. The GS looks great, some of the best lines of any mainstream car in years. But the noises inside are just inexcusable. During the 5K service, Lexus Service kept my car for a full week, and can't even offer a possible solution to the transmission problems. But that's another thread.
  2. I have to agree with SK here. The tone of your post indicates that you either want to complain for the sake of doing it and/or negatively influence potential buyers. The E-class that you refer to has a well-deserved horrible reputation for reliability, maintenance, tech difficulties, etc. The GS does not. Quite the opposite. And this is far from the first production year for the GS - try 10+. Your smoking drivetrain problem, whereas quite unfortunate, is obviously a one-off - not a pattern. Obviously Lexus has never heard of this problem, and it sounds like they are extending every available courtesy. They are keeping you posted on developments and giving you a great loaner-car (MB would give you a POS C-Class). What more could you ask for?? Their Customer Care is almost legendary in the auto world. If they need to replace your entire drivetrain or issue a new vehicle, that's what will happen. That's Lexus. The GS is far from buggy. I'm sure other LOC Members can tell you exactly how many tech bulletins have been issued, but I'm quite confident that the number is far below industry average. You asked for recommendations? Yeah - CHILL OUT. Your car has a mechanical problem and the dealer is doing everything humanly possible. And why even bother with the emtpy threats about calling an attorney? On what grounds?? You miss your car? I might be mistaken, but I don't think that's a crime.
  3. Hi All, Glad I found this Forum! (Perhaps the Dealer should've mentioned it?) Anyways, I recently went to the Dealer, couldn't decide between the 06 GS300 AWD, and the 06 RX330 (4-mo wait for hybrid). So after a little debate, I bought them both! Best cars on the planet, and we've had 'em all. And the Lexus service is second-to-none. My GS AWD has EVERY available option, and I absolutely love it. But I'm mildly dissapointed in the ML Audio, specifically the user interface and the lack of data it provides. For instance, load up a few CDs, but it doesn't provide disc data. (Brand new, store-bought Music CDs, not rips). The system only provides that Disc 1 is a CD, not the Artist or Title; ditto for the each song. All u get is "Disc 2, Track 3". (The Text or Title button doesn't help.) And no IPOD interface? Jeez. Hey, I like the Sirius SAT, but this is a terrible oversight. I think the IS has it (anyone confirm?), but I can't believe Lexus included a cassette player from the '80s (hello? what's next? 8-track player?) but no IPOD/other MP3 interface. Not trying to be a nit, just venting a little about the ML system. I can't be the only one who's a lil disappointed in it? Other than that, the cars are great and I'm sure i'll spend a lot of time here on this GREAT FORUM!
