Stereo Works In Acc But No Sound When Running

it is a 1995 LS400 it has a telephone and the 6 disc cd changer and what not plus almost 230,000 miles on it. The stereo works perfect aside from the messed up screen when in accessory mode. All speakers working and working well. but when you turn the key to on all sound cuts out. The head unit does not loose power but there is no sound. you can still adjust the tuner and cd player but no sound. I would think this was an amp probelm but it works when in ACC so i really have no idea. all fuses are good. etc... any ideas would be great.

Battery and/or alternator. These cars love full power...........i.e Electrical. My Guess?

do you hear hissing from the speakers when the ignition is on?

put the volume to the highest and check for the hissing noise. if you dont have the noise, check the power to the amp, amp is located under the passenger seat. looks like the power to the amp is gettin cut off.

I'd try unplugging the transciever and see what that does....
