Coolant Plate 1994 Es 300

My independent mechanic advised I need coolant plate replaced on 1994 ES 300 w/ 137k mi. I can't find such a part on the web--is this a legitimate repair?

Are you sure your "mechanic" is using the right term?

I would call him and ask him what it does?

Maybe he's talking about the EGR pipe under the upper itnake air chamber that routes coolant to the TB - cooling the EGR & warming the TB???

I feel stupid.

Make sure before you let him replace something. Any problems with the car?
