After my brother left the interior dom light and drain the battery, the alarm been acting up lately. Most of the time now when I take out the key before arming the alarm system, the system goes off for no reason. I like to know why it doing this and if there was a why I can reset it some how or fix it.

I had the same problem. I had my battery replaced and the alarm still went off when I unlocked the car and opened the door. It occured to me that most shops hook up an auxilary battery while changing out batteries so the computer won't reset or malfunction. I disconnected both terminals on my battery for a couple of hours and allowed the computer to reset. I haven't had the problem since.

My symptoms were that when I turn the car off and get out, in a few seconds (5-10), the alarm go off. Pressing the unlock button on the remote key stops it and I can them lock the car and set the alarm, but next time I start and stop the car, the same would happen. A quick disconnect of the battery did not fix it but a longer disconnect (over 5 minutes) seems to have fixed it. I also pressed the brake pedal while the battery was disconnected, for good measure.

So far, so good.

And by the way, it's a 10-mm nut holding the battery cable (saving you a trip back to the toolbox).
