gav_logan Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 hey guys, There may have been something similar to this posted, but I'm not sure if it's the same issue... Recently I've noticed that my left front speaker sounds as if its blown when I turn my stereo on (not every time) then after abt 1 min it comes good... Today, neither my rear or front left speaker were woking, then shortly after they came through distorted, then they worked fine... Any ideas? is it my amp or wiring? cheers - Gav
amf1932 Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 From your description it sounds like an amp or pre-amp problem. Since this distortion happens with more than one loudspeaker it points away from defective speakers as being the culprit. ;)
steviej Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 since the amp is under the front passenger and the wires must run under the carpet, maybe some wire(s) have a breakage in them and make contact sometime. check the wiring under the seat if you can. Maybe as simple as a connector. I agree with Alan, if it is in multiple exits then the problem exists at the first common point, the amp. steviej
