bsg Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 I have had my 2002 RX 300 to my dealer 3 times for a clunk that occurs upon braking. Happens most often after backing up and then your first braking going forward. This started at 2500 miles and has gotten progressively louder. Dealer says it is nothing more than the brake pads setting in. Has anyone else had this problem? Also after 3 trips (at 10K miles) the dealer is replacing the front brakes and rotors due to hot spots that started causing a pulsing on braking (that they could not feel for the other 2 visits)
SKperformance Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 sounds like it might be the drivetrain not the brakes
RXKICK Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I have had the same noise coming from my 4Runner before. One of my CV boot was cracked open. After replacing it, the noise went away. Check your CV boot make sure they are not cracked. my .02 cents. RXKICK.
