Wet Sanding Your Car

Recommended Posts

After repeated waxings of my SC430 the finished of my car has developed very slight surface scratches barely visible except under artificial lighting. I an tempted to bite the bullet and have the complete car wet sanded and then buffed out and waxed. Just wondeing if anybody here has had it done and how much they paid.

moved to the detailing section.

I would get some quotes from local detailers on what is needed from a professional stand point as wetsanding can be great but done without experience can completely damage a paint job even when being done slowly and with caution.

Woah woah woah.

You don't need to wetsand the paint to remove surface marring of that nature. Thats like fixing a stain in the carpet by cutting out all the carpet fibers. Wetsanding is for removing serious defects and is only a last resort before repainting.

Read around here about proper detailing technique, you can probably repair that marring yourself. If you don't want to do that then hire a good detailer to polish it out and maintain it regularly.
