viclykewhoa Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 My check engine light came on, so I brought my '99 GS300 to have it diagnosed. It turns out there was a problem with the MAF sensor. I have changed it since then and the car ran fine for a while. The check engine light just came back on yesterday after two good weeks with it off. So, I was wondering could a dirty filter cause the check engine light to come on. I will be changing my engine air filter today to see if that helps.

The sensor itself may need cleaning. Pull the code so you don't waste time and money replacing someting that's not the problem. B) Any autoparts store should be able to do it for you.
