Magnoman
I have Purchased a 2002 Rx300 a few months ago w/50k on it. Runs & rides like silk ! I have been working on cars for 35 years doing most of my own work. I wanted to change the Transfer case oil & rear diff oil to Syn Amsoil. wondering if this is ok, if anyone has had any problems after the change? I went to one of those oil change places and wanted them to do it just to save the pain of it. They siad i should not change over that the seals could start to leak????? I have use syns In most of my other cars and never had a prob but they just spooked me a bit.
TunedRX300
Go to somewhere else because they are wrong, if you have a leak, fix the leak. I have Mobil 1 Synthetic and changed myself, now that you have 35 years of DIY experience, it should not be hard.
RX300 Steven
I replaced the transmission, rear diff, and front transfer case (or diff depending on what you call it) all to Amsoil. I got at least 2 mpg improvement and I think it shifts better and overall runs better. This is a very easy process to do yourself and makes you feel better knowing you saved all that money.
