Terragen
I don't personally own a lexus - I'm asking this for someone who isn't as "internet savvy" but who thought I might be able to find something out. I know that when the car starts to move that certain features disable. You cannot program in new destinations until you stop. I understand that its a legal issue (don't want people getting into accidents) but that really you can still play with the GPS system anyways so its pretty useless. Its really just an annoyance as if you have a passanger to type the information in - they cannot type it in while the car is moving. Obviously if the passanger does it there isn't a distraction to the driver. Anyways he was wondering if its possible to disable this "feature". I told him it would probably require a software update and probably not something that can be controlled by a car diagnostic tool.. but I'm sure you guys have a lot more knowledge on the subject that I (since I don't even own a lexus myself). Any information you guys can shed on this is much appreciated.. he just wants passangers to be able to control the GPS system even while the car is in motion. Thanks :)
Terragen
Sorry I forgot to mention I think its a 2001 or 2002 Lexus LS430 We're up in Canada if that makes any difference (although I would expect only the maps are different). Hope this helps :)
