this is the response i got from vais tech :(

"Unfortunately but unit for this particular vehicle will not be available. On the RX 300 availability starts with year 2001, and for vehicles with Navigation only."

Also; no matter which year RX you have, if you have spend the extra cash and bought the Mark Levinson version, you cannot hardwire your IPod. But, you get a cool build-in cassette-player.
