mig25 Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 I have a Pioneer Radio/Cassete player. Got a chance to get a Single CD Nachamichi. would it fit in my 90 LS400? It comes from a 92 LS400 Part # is 8612050080
PIONEERSUBY Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 THAT IS NOT A SINGLE CD .IT IS A CASSETTE PLAYER WITH CD BUTTON FOR RUNNING THE TRUNK CHANGER. IF YOU HAVE THE TAPE BUTTON ONLY pioneer RADIO IT WOULD BE EASIER TO CHANGER TO THE PIONEER CD BUTTON RADIO. THE NAKAMICHI CD BUTTON RADIO WOULD REQUIRE NEW Amp speakers and wiring. the pioneer has internal amp and nakamichi trunk mounted amp so no wiring for the NAK amp on a pioneer car. the pioneer radio with cd button would be a plug in and play. sellers of those cd button radios advertise them as AM/FM cassette cd but should say AM/FM cassette cd controller. they seem to forget to put the controller part when advertising then blame the buyer for not knowing an ls400 never had a single cd. as a rule the more expensive a car the less chance it has a single cd because of expense of repaining dash when crook breaks in car to steal single cd player. 7 series bmw and ls430 still have cassette players in view to discourage theft. the cheaper cars like is300 and bmw 3 series have had single cd standard since 2000.
