NeiLtYmE Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 hello all ... allright .... i need someone with 2002 LS430 stock wheels... i bought the chrome ones for my 96 ES300 just wondering what kind of tires you all are wearing ... and how wide ? thanks! NT
SW03ES Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 Have you installed them yet? I get conflicting reports as to whether or not they'll fit. The stock LS430 tire size is 225 series width. You'll want the same height as the ES tires to maintain the stock ride height at wheel rotation diameter to avid recalibrating the speedo.
NeiLtYmE Posted July 13, 2003 Author Posted July 13, 2003 looking for tires ... but calculations tell me that 225/50/16 would work..... so i guess the tire is just ganna be a smaller side wall.... if i go with 205 (stock width)... then i need to get a 60 side wall (5 smaller than stock)... make sense ? now im just looking for the right tires... looking for some all season performance.....
squarehat Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 There were actually two stock wheels for the '02 LS430--the 16" on the base model, and the 17" on the higher option packages. I assume you went with the 17" On my 17" wheels, I'm running 215/50-17 (see my sig), which is the closest possible to OEM diameter. Not sure if the LS rims are two wide to run a 215 width tire, though.
NeiLtYmE Posted July 13, 2003 Author Posted July 13, 2003 O, and do you know the width side wall stock width for the ls ? just wondering ? you said " conflicting " what would be the problem ? as it is a 16X7 wheel ... and i am just going up from 15X7... its just a matter of tire size i would imagine.... i mean ive seen people put is300 17's on the es300's no problem...
SW03ES Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 The problem is the offset, I've heard some people say the LS wheels require spacers in order to fit right, which I believe the IS wheels require when put on the LS. Some people however say there is no problem...
