GLENN G
Can anyone help me find the location of the transfer case fill plug? I found the drain plug at the bottom, but where is the fill plug? At least I was able to find the differential drain and fill plugs without problems. Thanks
mek88
Did you find the transfer case fill plug? Also, may I know where is the fill plug for front differential, since I'm planning to do it soon. Please advise Thanks email: mek88@yahoo.com Location: Los Angeles
J.B
Mek & Glenn As far as I know, the xfer case shares the transmission fluid with the transmission. There is a plug to empty that side of the transmission casing, but they share the same transmission fluid: fill up through the dip stick tube. Make sure not to overfill! Front and rear differentials have one drain plug at the bottom and one fillup at the top. You cannot overfill those (with good synth gear oil only). Also, I counted 6 gaskets to replace (two transmisison case, two central & two rear diffs). Since I tow a tent trailer during the summer, I have been draining all the above fluids before every winter. Good luck. JB
