dobby
Apologies in advance for this newbie question. I've never owned a Lexus before much a less a hybrid. After driving even a short trip (10 minutes), the metal part of the key feels warm upon removal. Is it supposed to?
JasonATL
I don't know if it is "supposed to," but I have noticed on ocassion that mine does as well. I have never noticed this on previous Lexus models that we've owned. However, it isn't that big of a deal. I doubt it indicates any problem. At your next (presumably 5000 mile) service, you might mention it to the service person and they should be able to give you some peace of mind. LexRexBlue
I haven't noticed it yet on my RX400h key, but I did notice it on my RX300 key. It got downright hot but there never was a problem. That car is 6.5 years old and runs well.
wwest
The 12 volt stearing wheel unlock solenoid is nearby. Fairly high current draw, the last thing you need is the stearing wheel getting locked down the way.
pinzabu
Mine does it too sometimes. Also the dash, even in the shade. This is my first Lexus and first hybrid. L
