nycgs300
When I played music for a couple of hours my amplifier get really hot so I decided to install a fan so it can cool down a bite. I connected the positive(red wire) to the amplifier positive and the negitive(black wire) to the negitive. I would assume once I turn off the radio the fan would shut off too guess what? The god damn fan stays on. Can someone show me how to hook this up that when I turn my radio off the fan would shut off too. Note: there are only 2 wires coming from the fan which is red and black. GuyTelefunken
Hook the red wire from the fan to the remote turn-on wire going to the amp, not the power feed to the amp. Usually the turn on circuit cannot handle much current, so you may blow the fuse at the radio, if the remote turn-on is seperately fused. Fortunately, fans generally do not draw too much current so you should be ok. Otherwise, you'd need to use the remote turn-on to trigger a relay to switch the power to the fan. Just wire to the remote turn on, it will work. Good luck.
