Tarrant Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I'm looking at buying a couple of jetskis with a double trailer and was wondering if trying to pull something like that with an IS300 would be a bad idea. Don't know what the collective weight would be though. Watcha think?
Unlisted Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 jetskis are about 400pds each plus 100 pds for the trailer. your fine pulling with the IS just put the transmission in power mode
steviej Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 consider an aftermarket tranny fluid cooler if you really want to do this. steviej
melhadri Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Lexus's are not made for pulling...just styling and cruising baby. However, since some of us dont owe Ford/Chevy pick-up trucks (boooo)...ask around before experimenting w/ your Lexus.

The car can handle it as long as you have a good hitch installed. 2. You shouldn't do it. Towing is more than just "towing capacity." The length of the tow vehicle as well as the weight and its brakes are very important. The IS300 is not designed for towing. Go to U-Haul or some other place and rent yourself a pickup truck if none of your friends have one you can use. Do yourself and others on the roads a favor and don't tow with an IS300.
