I am wondering if anyone has used a universal cat on their car and how it work out. did you have to mod anything. and if you did use universal where u get if from or brand name. apparently in vancouver canada they dont have a universal for it they say at a few shops, and lexus wants 700 canadian for one.

What year is your vehicle? How many miles do you have on it?

I think there is a Federal Gov't Emmissions Program, where all Manufactures are responsible for replacing malfuctioned major emmission components, such as the Cat, free of charge. However, the car must meet a certain criteria: no older than 8 yrs old and less than 80k miles. Do a search and you may find more about this topic. I wouldnt be to thrilled with replacing the CAT, as it may cost $1k+. Hope this helps.

The sound shouldn't change noticibly. The Cat isn't responsible for much of the sound, the multiple silencers and mufflers do that.

I had a look around and I don't seem to see a supplier for cats for GS models 1998 and up. If anyone finds an aftermarket supplier, let us know!

Last year my left bank cat tripped my cel and brought it to the dealer and they replaced it for $0.00 and they even gave me a new es to drive . Contact the dealer and ask what the criteria is and take it from there. Good Luck !!! B)
