60k Service Cost

Recommended Posts

My wife just hit 60,000 miles on her 96 ES300. I've been annoyed in the past about the pricey dealer service costs, but this one really seems ridiculous :pirate: ... For the regular scheduled 60K service, the dealer quotes $939 + $400 timing belt + tax.

Is $1339 + tax out of line for a 60,000 mile service appointment?

I don't know about the ES, but when I took my dad's GS in for the 60,000 mile service, it cost about $1200. Since that was sometime last year, sounds about right with rising prices and all. Kind of a doozy, ain't it? Freaking dealerships make so much money off of us with expensive service costs on top of how much the cars itself cost, dang pirates :pirate:

try to find a local mechanic you can trust, but specify using toyota parts, that will save you few hundred (that's what I did), if not using "genuine" toyota parts will save you another couple hundred.
