Driver Seat Click On Left And Right

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm facing problem now with my Driver Seat, when I trun left or right on the road , the driver saet shift or click to the left or right , depend on the direction.

I need to fix myself if it is something simple to tight, or if it is something cracked I need to take to the dealer.

I feel it like a bolt need to be tighten.

Can any one help please. tutorial if it's possible as pictures would be nice.

I believe, and somebody correct me if I am wrong, the seat sits on two tracks which are bolted to the floor. Move the seat all the way back and remove the bolts. Then move all the way forward and remove the bolts. There are connectors underneath for the seat motors you must disconnect. Then pull the seat out and have a look. Probably a cracked weld which can be fixed by a weld shop, welder.

Of course you will want to test all the bolts before removing them to make sure they are tight and not causing the problem.

Is it a slight shift, maybe a quarter of an inch? There is a TSB for this exact issue, something about a retaining spring I believe. My 95 does it as well.

I feel it like slitly slipping left or right. but I don't think it is related to the seat track, I feel it like something between the frame that carry the chair and chair not between the frame and the track. I hope you understand my expression. :)

Here is the TSB. it's for a 95, not sure what year your car is, but I'm betting they're the same seats.
