5 days back, I tried to start my car morning, the ignition is running , but it didn't start. I took it to the michanic and he said , all electricity is working fine, pump is pushing gas to the engine fine etc.... Timing belt is fine, nothing wrong in the car from out-side. BUT the engine pressure ( though I didn't understand what is it ) is very low while trying to start the car. he showed me a machine reading numbers from another car and he said look at this number , if we try to read it from your car it gives either 0 or nothing.... my Car is 98 LS400, with 262K miles. I'm taking care of the car engine and all regular maintenance, Does that mean I might lose the engine ? do you think there is something related to security ( although the red light is off while the key is there )..

I found the cause of this problem... The lamp switch in the steering does not work correctly, yesterday I pressed it little hard and the lamps stayed on the hole trip, then today I tried to play with it, it seems like a lose inside it. like the sound tick tick.. I think I need to find a replacement for it...

Hi, I have LS98 (Halogen , the white blue color light), and it works fine with me, those days I started to get this issue, the left headlamp turns off after 2-5 minutes while I'm driving. Does that mean I need to change the lamp only ? or there is something wrong in the wiring ? I need your suggestion.

Hi, It's been awhile for the last time I visited the forum, but the good thing , as usual, I benefit from your guys your experience before every time I visit the dealer for the regular maintenance. but this time I would like to ask them to fix the strange sound comes at the same time while I'm turning the steering to the right, and only to the right. it is a lower sound comes down from the engine or from the wheels. and I can feel it in the steering wheel, like if a rubber thing dragged over another rubber piece. if anyone can suggest to me something. is it serious so I have to reach to the dealer by tomorrow ? , is it costly ? as you know the dealer might increase say a price wihtout a discussion but at least I can say no. or yes.

I read all of them. Tick sound , could be alot of things. nothing can be a direct answer to my need. and it's a kind of suggestion according to my car condition. so if someone could drop only two lines, it can be usefull to me .

Hello, It's just a simple question. I have LS 98 , and now it's 180 000 mile on it. and planing to take it to the dealer next week to do regular maintenance. Is there anything according to the miles on it, anything I should be sure about the suspension system to be replaced , and it's not costly :). Sometimes when I drive the car in the cold morning , and I hit any simple thing in the raod, I hear sound like tick sound from the front of the car. and when I turn the steering to the left , I hear a tick sound two or three times. if I ask the dealer to check the suspension system , he would as for $$$$ for everything :) while I shouldn't , so if anyone could suggest anything that will be 100% sure a part of imporving the suspension sytem. BTW, I didn't do any maintinance on the suspension. even the struts. they are the original ones came with the car!!!

Hello, I just noticed that my right mirror when I change the shifter to R, it when lower as in new model of LS, but that's only if I make the mirror controller turned to left. is that one of the features on LS400 98 ? or this is a kind of bug ?

Do you get this problem in hot weather ? I have the same model, and if I kept my car under the sun for 1 or more hours, the back door , does not response the unlocking and locking. but in normal weather it works fine.

Hi, I'm facing problem these days when I try to accelerate the speed, the car start go up/down little a kind of vibration. when I take my foot away from the gas paddel it say stable on the road, I'm facing this when the speed become around 75 mph or more. I'm suspecting this from the engine mounts and transmission mounts. I need your opioin on this. my car is LS 98 , ODO 165k miles BTW I never changed the mounts

Well, it is normal temp. usually at that time of year it does go upper than the first line. and in the summer it reach to the second one. I will post pics from the rare control soon.

Count on the same location on the mph gauge and you figure out the speed in mph. nearly it is 120-110

I'm not considering myself as carzy driver, I just took those picture the first time I hit this speed 180km/h 190km/h just a look at the saudi dashboard

LS400 98. I remember somebody was talking about this issue, but it was about the AC display not the cassette.

Hi , see the attached picture , some of my cassette Player display start to black out, I went to the dealer and he said it will cost $100. I heared from someone that it is possible to find one coompatible with this one. Can anybody refer me to a website where I can buy this one. Regards

The full insurance , depend on your car and the year model. but for one like mine , LS400 98 , it will cost $1100 usually most of poeple care about the require not the full insurance.

in SAUDI ARABIA, you have to have a licence insurance , which cost you about 165 USD per year, and this insurance only covers your driving faults. the full insurance is high comparing to licence insurance. and it depend on the type of your car. ( I think this one is applied in every place in the world.) The High speed driving is also uncovered in the insurance. I'm not going to reach 120mph, LS400 is amazing car , it's giving you very good ride, stable driving I had Nissan Cedric , GM Caprise , and Crasseda, all are nothing comparing to LS400.

it cost nothing comparing to other countries, 0.24 USD per letter. driving 100mph is not allowed in travelling road, but in highway connecting the city , it's not allowed by law , but no body is checking for that, no Radar Camera or something like that. :) the legal driving speed is 120km/h which is almost 70mph.

Hi, I drive every to work around 35 mile , and that 's a high way road so I'm driving in around 100m/h, 5 days a week. Does that hurt the car or make it last faster ?, I've heard that high ways does not effect the car comparing the normal road, espcially in the gear shifter, and the engine. I'm doing the services on the time.

I remember that I read something about slowing down the car using the shifter can any body recall it ? that's why I wonder about it.

Hi, I wonder if this behaivor will effect the car or it is normal, in LS 98 , I can shift the gear from D to 3 to reduce the speed, which is easier and make the break pads last longer. is this kind of behaivor will effect the car some how . in manual shifting cars , it is possible to do so and no effect if you do it in the right range. Regards.

from the link , it seems for 92 , I have 98 , can any body send a picture to show where exactly the MAF sensor in 98LS.

Can you explain the vacumm leak in more detail so I can tell the dealer about it ?
