Nate Posted June 27, 2003 Share Posted June 27, 2003 Has anyone changed the speedometer on a 1994 LS 400? I would like to know if it's easy to change myself? The dealer said the part cost $250 and $100 for labor. Mine works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't! Should I just pay them to do it? chromiez Posted June 28, 2003 Share Posted June 28, 2003 i have the same problem on my 1991 LS400, the needle is faded and works sometimes. i got the same price for replaceing it as you did, but a mecahnic i know said he could do it cheaper, cause all he had to do is buy a aftermarket needle or a salvaged one for a couple dollars and replace it. you can give that a try, but i'm not too worryed since its a good way to excape a speeding ticket :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
