Matthew_McNally Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 How do you get the badges off a GS? Hair drier and dental floss sound good. How about the central ( L ) - any wholes, or is that held on by glue? I intend to use masking tape as place holders so the new ones go in exactly the same place.
Neo Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 No holes. You may need adhesive remover/goo gone/something similar to get the remaining residue off.

Neo Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Just in case, to put all doubts to rest, here is a debadged pic: So no definitely no holes for the GS. :D
new big400 Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I just took my badges off a few months ago and goo gone didnt do me any good.I used some light buffing compound to get off some of the stubborn stuff.
Lex01_430 Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 why would you deflower your car? I am keeping mine so that people know I have a 430...I'm proud! I guess it does look cleaner...

rerskine1fn Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Same general topic, but I have a somewhat different question. I bought my 99 GS used from a dealership, and it has that ugly white dealership logo on the trunk lid, just under the "Lexus" logo. Will the "Goo Be Gone" work on this too? Any suggestions would help. I'm trying to get it off this weekend. Thanks!!!

What ever seems to be a little stubborn, take a small sponge soaked a bit with Goo-Gone and hold it there to work for a minute. I've used it on my motorcycles and other vehicles, good stuff.
Steve@Lextasy.com Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 You'll want to wait for a really hot day and take dental floss or a fishing line to slide back and forth. Once its started, you can easily take over with your bare hands.
