Dantheman
Just few minutes ago I deceided to unplug the battery on my gs to see what would happen to my yesterday tiptronic problem... Well after 1 minute, I repluged the battery and start the car. Well now the tiptronic is online but didn't go down the the 2nd gear. When I press the down button on the steering wheel, from 3rd gear to second, all I hear is a bip sound. Was this because I was still on choke (just start the car) ???? I will try it later on today, when I'll go downtown and will keep you inform. Dantheman (happier than yesterday night) :D :D :D
TurboGS300
Nope, there is no"choke" on a fuel injected car, you have a problem. When you reset the battery you may have erased the memory or the problem, however, it'll be back after a few blips. <_<
Dantheman
Well, I did around 120 kms this afternoon and every once in a while I checked the tiptronic reliability and it was ok every time. Maybe time will tell if you are wright (hope not) :D Dantheman
dbgs400
You were correct in assuming that it would not allow you to down shift or to select 2nd gear in the manual mode because of having just started your car. It will wait until the car has warmed up a bit before it will allow you to select it and that's the reason for the bell when trying to select 2nd when cold..
