iamhank
I'm getting ready to replace the driver side leather seat covers Back and Seat. I got a discounted price from Newlexusparts.com but am now wondering how difficult the labor involved will be to do it myself. I do not have any manuals so do not know the correct procedures. HELP Car is 1996 LS 400 ← Vehicle upholstery is a very specialized industry, afte 5 decades of dealing with leather upkeep and restoration, reupholstery is not something I would attempt, IMO-I really do not see this as a DIY project unless you have some/lots of experience with leather upholstery JonM

cruznroadking
I've replace seat covers on old Hot Rods & they were much simplier than the Lexus seats. What I ran into when replacing them was that the foam always wears & compresses with age & the new seat covers never fit right. I'd end up going to a furniture store to buy foam & installing it in the worn areas but it turned out to be more than a weekend job. You'll need a special tool to remove & install the hog rings. For the best fit & finish have an upholstery shop do it.
