  1. I'm getting ready to replace the driver side leather seat covers Back and Seat. I got a discounted price from Newlexusparts.com but am now wondering how difficult the labor involved will be to do it myself. I do not have any manuals so do not know the correct procedures. HELP Car is 1996 LS 400
  2. I don't want to base my decision on just 2 responses. I understand the merits of both and frankly was surprised that only 2 people from this club had an opinion. Right now I am leaning to the Toyoto shocks as I really do not want to change the ride of my car. The ones I have now have served me well for 7 years and my philosopy is to go with what I know works for me.
  3. Next time try the Dunlap Graspic snow tire. I just purchased a set of 4 and the price with UPS delivery came to $ 72. They were 16" for my LS400. I live in the mountains of NW NJ and these babies have gotten me through many major storms. My dealer wanted $ 113 a piece and could not believe the price. Their warm compound also makes them a great tire on ice. Made it through the storm last night and temperature up here was minus 2 I highly recommend the Tirerack. They will even give you a name of a local installer. In my area it was the guy who was charging me about $33 more per tire. That's a savings of $ 132 ......Go figure.
  4. I have always had a great experience with them no matter what I buy. You might want to look at the Dunlap Graspic next time. I just purchased a set of 4 16" for my LS 400. Price with UPS delivery came to $ 73 per tire. I live in a town on the mounatins of NW NJ. I have had Blizzaks and these are just as good at a much cheaper price. Your rep was probably having a bad day.
  5. Hi Steve..........Check out the Tirerack.com. You will find customer ratings and comments about the tires they have purchased. Their prices on Dunlaps are great. I have an Ls400 and have been buying Dunlaps for quite a while. You may also want to check out the Continental "Extremes". Great for all year round driving
  6. Thanks for the quick response.................I had been considering KYB's. I will only be replacing all the struts................Was just curious qbout the coil springs. Will not be replacing Thanks Hank
  7. You can't beat the prices at Tirerack.com. Shipping is about $ 6 bucks per tire depending on your location. I saved $32 per tire on Dunlap Graspic Snow tires. My tire dealer could not believe their prices
  8. Hi Guys..........Great club !!!!! Nice belonging to a select circle of Lexus enthusiasts. I need advice on upgrading my suspension. I have 190K and am getting ready to replace anything in the suspension that will maintain my smooth, cushiony ride. Can you advise as to what brand of shocks/struts/springs would accomplish my objective. Car is in fantastic condition having had only brakes, tuneup, timing belt and other "normal maintenance" Thanks in advance for your suggestions Hank from NJ
