rfcbuf
My 1998 GS 400 has original battery. How long should I wait before changing for new battery as original battery is fine. What would be a good aftermarket replacement battery and will I encounter any difficulties with car's computer, electricals, etc. when original battery is disconnected when battery is finally changed? cruznroadking
Orginal batteries are usually good for 4-5 years. Since you've had such good luck with o/e why not buy one from the dealer. I've had good luck with Interstate batteries.

TurboGS300
You'll have no problems with an optima battery, search on here and google and you'll find out all you need to know about optima batteries and operation in your vehicle. An Optima battery will last much longer than a liguid filled battery and requires "no maintenance" has no fluids to evaporate out. About $100 for a red top which is a stock replacement.
