new_owner
My Mechanic says that we need to replace the whole Hub Assembly, Right Front Wheel Bearing on 91 LS400 114K miles. I notice some vibration if you sit in the paassenger sit....but other than the vibration..it drives Ok. He says its about 3 hr job if I can find the parts on internet. Any ideas?? VGR
The front wheel bearings are sealed and don't need periodic greasing. Normally they last over 300,000 miles. And normally if they go bad there will be a deep growl when cornering at moderate speeds of say 30 MPH. I'd get a second opinion before authorizing anyone to replace the bearings
pachocco1
The bearing and other related components can be replaced. The hub would need to be damaged in order to require replacement. It holds the bearing and is a very strong load carrying part. I strongly doubt it needs to be replaced. Attached is from the repair manual for your reading. frontaxl.pdf

monarch
you'll know if and when a wheel bearing is going bad because the noise is rather loud and annoying. An example of something that can damage a wheel bearing is driving fast over an extremely deep and sharp pot hole, or driving on a flat tire. Traumatic things like that.
