tmccormick
I have a '90 LS400 with the original CD Changer in the trunk. For about a week the cd's would play, but seem to "skip". The skip was not due to scratches on the cd. The CD player would just stop playing a moment, and would pick up a few seconds later in the tune. After a week of "skipping" it will not play CD's at all. It will load each disk, but reads error on each one. I'm concerned that it is going to have to be replaced. I would like to try cleaning, resetting, just about anything to try and get it to work. I don't know how to do these things. If anyone can tell me what I could try and how, I would appreciate it so much. Thanks!
Lexus_Luxembourg
First try using a cleaning disk. Best a wet one, the dry ones are a waste of money. If that doesn't help you must have it readjusted. Probably it's just the head dirty or out of alignement. It's easy to correct it but you must know exactly what you do or you'll screw it up. Best take it out yourself and bring it to a specialised shop.

You might try to reset by popping out the fuse for the unit and replacing. As I recall, ours would lock up and only show some kind of error message. lexus400
If you send it back to Pioneer, they have a flat rate repair program which was about $175 a couple of years ago. I might have the details, address if you're interested. Bob
