Loose Front Seat Belts

I have a 99 RX 300. Both the front driver and passanger side seatbelts are very loose and I constantly have to pull on them to tighten them. Anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it? Thanks

There's a tensioner built into the seatbelt, as seatbelts age the tensioners stop working as well. The thing to do is to replace both seatbelt assemblies.

My mom's RX300 is the same way. I drive a '96 Explorer and the belts are nice and snug when I drive it, it's a comforting feeling. Is the lightening of the tension a gradual thing or is it sudden? Should I be careful and watch to see if it gets worse on my mom's Lex?

I just got my RX 300 and the seatbelts were already like that. I think that I just need to have the tensioners replaced.

I have the same problem on my 99 RX300. What is the inexpensive way to fix this?

I called a certified Toyota/Lexus mechanic and they were going to replace both seat belt tensioners. They were going to charge me $530+/- to do the job. I'm still debating if I want to pay that much for the work.
