hi,anyone with a 95 or 96 es 300 i need your help on this.when i start my car in the moring and take off with it it seems shifting from first to second is normal but when it should go to third it seems it takes longer then it should.if i reach 35 mph when its cold its still in second gear but once i go a few blocks and it warms up if i go 35 it goes to third quicker.do they all do this when they are first started?i live in the city so its hard for me to reach anymore then 35mph to see if it will reach third gear because once i hit 35 i have to slow down.but once the car goes a few blocks and idles down it shifts to third at like 30 or 35mph.im just wondering if this is normal because it only does it when i first start it.once i drive it a few block and by the time i reach the highway it all shifts quicker.weird.

it sounds normal my 94 with the same engine and tranny does that as well as any other lexus i have driven from a cold start

it is a feature to get the engine and tranny to operating temp also to get better emmisions faster

yeah man ... every morning .... im riding in high second gear...... when it gets to about 3000 rpm ....it shifts..... perfectly normal......

one thing though ... dont stress and make it shift .... just keep it gradual as the engine and parts hasnt warmed up yet....

peace
