jschunke
It's a '93 LS400 with Nakamichi remote CD changer in the trunk. Was testing for battery drain with ignition off. When I removed the negative battery terminal and put a test light in serial, the test light flashed while there was a clicking noise in the trunk. It was the CD changer. The clicking doesn't occur with the battery connected. For now I removed the CD cartridge, and wondering if the CD changer has been causing the battery to drain. But how to determine that? SKperformance
i doubt it the cd changer will click when ever you disconnect the power as it is checking for discs now with a light you are allowing it enough power to think but not enough to move. Which is the wrong way to look for parasytic draw you need an ammeter to do it properly
jschunke
Thanks, SK. I didn't have a ammeter at the time so I used a light bulb instead. Using a test light is standard procedure for us old school guys, but obviously not adequate for 21st century computer equipped cars.
