hello1 Posted November 29, 2004 Share Posted November 29, 2004 hi, i did a search but couldnt find any info. i have a 94 sc 5spd with 130k miles. i have a whinning noise kinda sounds like a whirling noise coming from under my shift boot. i have a short shifter but dont know what the problem is.could it be the motor mounts, or tranny mounts.? thanks for your time, and any help would be appreciated. johnny3 Posted November 29, 2004 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Drain the transmission oil & put in synthetic, makes a big difference in shifting, much smoother & quieter. I personally like "Redline" the best, I've used it in several different vehicles with excellent results (we're talking manual transmissions only now). look in your owners manual & see what oil it calls for (10-30 or whatever) & cross ref. it to the correct synthetic. You'll probably never have to change it again as the syn. is good for around 100k, really never wears out, never gets contaminated like engine oil.
