kshgl87 Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Just about 20 minutes ago I drove home from a friends house and while on my way home I discovered that whenever I went over about 2,500rpms I could hear this strange noise coming from the engine compartment and it almost sounded like the fan was rubbing on something. So i opened the hood when i got home and checked it out but I was unable to find a problem. Please help me cause if its serious i'm in trouble!!!
yoichisoma Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Late reply, and whatever was inevitable must have happened, but I had a fan bearing problem on my 90LS. the bearing was shot and the fan was waivering on an unstable grinding axis ready to seize and fall off. Hope yours didn't. Am I right? was this the problem? Yo
VBdenny Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Go to Sears and nuy one of those engine stethoscopes. I use it to listen to strange noises, they are very sensitive.
silvermate Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 fan bearing is a very reasonable diagnosis.........thats what i would have said as well.... but just like lexls problem its very hard to diagnose over the internet, all we can do is offer opinions <_<
